Minnesota Learning Innovations Council

Council Charge

The Council is charged with three major responsibilities:

  1. To prepare policy recommendations for the iSeek Solutions Board and a work plan
  2. To determine outcome priorities for FY06 including

·         Electronic Transfer of Transcript Data based on the “speedeMnTransfer model,

·         Provide continued support for the Course Applicability System (CAS).

·          Develop recommendations/plan for  E Learning Learning Summit

  1. The Council funds innovative educational projects through its grant program and invites proposals to be submitted using the criteria listed below.

All proposals* to the Minnesota Learning Innovations Council should provide clear evidence that they meet the following principles:

·         They have an educational focus.

·         They serve a well-defined need in the state and have a potential statewide impact.

·         Applicants are part of a partner organization. In addition, other agencies or organizations may apply if sponsored by a partnering organization.

·         Two or more partner organizations or members of partner organizations must collaborate on the proposal.

·         Specific deliverables that can be achieved within the requested budget are clearly defined.

Critical Issues:

This council continues to focus on innovative education initiatives.

*Proposals will only be considered if they are submitted using the project proposal form that has been approved by the Minnesota Learning Innovations Council.

At its May 21, 2004 meeting, the iSeek Solutions Executive Board approved the appointment of two policy Councils and two advisory committees.  The formation of the Councils is a direct result of the recommendations put forth by the Board at its March retreat and is reflected in the revised organizational chart.  The members of the Councils and Committees will be appointed by the Board and the appointee should be able to speak for the organization.  In Accordance with Article VII A-D of the BYLAWS of iSeek Solutions all Board Members may act as exofficio members of the councils and committees.
